A technological breakthrough in multilayer co-extruded high-barrier PVC medical films has raised the domestic production rate of high-end medical devices to 42%.

A leading domestic materials company has achieved mass production of a next-generation, phthalate-free, high-barrier PVC cast film. Its oxygen transmission rate is one hundred times lower than that of conventional single-layer films, and it maintains an antibacterial efficacy exceeding 99.2% even after 50 washes, having also passed medical biocompatibility testing. This product is used in infusion bags and pharmaceutical blister packaging. By 2026, the domestic penetration rate of high-end medical-grade PVC films is expected to reach 42%, significantly reducing import‑related material procurement costs for Chinese pharmaceutical companies.
