The China Plastics Association has unveiled an industry‑wide energy‑saving and technological upgrade plan, promoting nano‑additive–based low‑temperature plasticization technology. This technology reduces the processing temperature for PVC calendered films from 170°C to below 140°C, cutting electricity consumption per ton of film from 350 kWh to 260 kWh. According to estimates, if this process were adopted across all PVC film producers nationwide, it could save 4.5 billion kWh of electricity annually and reduce carbon emissions by 3.6 million tonnes. Meanwhile, digital inkjet printing can seamlessly replace traditional gravure printing, slashing solvent emissions from PVC printed films by 80%.
